Kids aged 8 to 16 in Maastricht
Self-defence for children who want to feel surer and calmer
At Fightless your child learns to set boundaries, stay calm when things get tense and trust their own body. Twice a week, with a fixed structure and plenty of repetition.
Sound familiar?
Why parents come to us
- Your child backs off when there is trouble and does not dare to say anything about it.
- There is bullying at school, and at home you notice it lingers.
- Saying no does not work, even when your child would like to.
- Busy places and loud noises quickly overwhelm your child.
You do not have to recognise anything on this list to start. Plenty of children simply come because they enjoy it and want to move.
What your child gets out of it
Three things you see back at home
Calm and focus
Staying calm when things get tense
When there is tension, your child gets stressed and does not know what to do. We practise breathing, keeping distance and looking first. The result: your child stays clear headed longer in situations that used to be overwhelming.
Setting boundaries
Standing firmer on their own feet
Your child finds it hard to say something about other people's behaviour. We practise literally with voice, posture and the STOP drill. The result: your child speaks up sooner about what is and is not okay.
Energy and confidence
Trust in their own body
Moving feels awkward and your child doubts what they can do. Every class has movement, play and repetition of the same skills. The result: your child notices for themselves that they are getting stronger and more capable.
What a class looks like
Sixty minutes with a fixed build-up
- 1
Check-in
A short arrival, attention on the room, a quick sense of how everyone is doing. - 2
Warm-up
Building up calmly, waking the body up and preventing injuries. - 3
Technique block
One technique step by step, slow and clean first, faster after that. - 4
Integration
Applying the technique in a realistic situation, under light pressure. - 5
Wrap-up
Cooling down, a short look back and naming what went better than last time.
A safe atmosphere, control over force
Nobody is hit hard and nobody is laughed at. The instructor names what is going well and helps with what is not working yet.
The STOP drill as an example
Your child learns to set a clear boundary with voice and posture: step back, hands up, say stop loud and clear. Simple, and often exactly enough in real life.
The kids programme
Level 1 takes eight to ten weeks
That check is not an exam to select anyone. It is a review moment that confirms what your child can already do, and that motivates them to carry on. Nobody fails, everyone sees their own progress.

You book, you are the contact
For a kids booking we ask for your child's name and your contact details. All communication about the classes goes through you, not through your child. That way we keep children's data to a minimum.
What does your child bring?
Sportswear, clean indoor shoes and a water bottle. Come ten minutes before the start, so there is time to say hello.
Questions from parents
Frequently asked questions
Is it not too aggressive for children?
No. We always start with de-escalation: keeping distance, walking away, getting help and saying no clearly. Physical techniques only come after that and we practise them with control. Nobody fights to win.
What if my child is unsure or not very sporty?
Then this is a good place to start. There are no demands on fitness or level, and nobody is singled out. The instructor makes sure your child practises with someone they feel comfortable with.
Can I watch as a parent?
News about the viewing policy is still to come. At the first class you are welcome to come inside in any case, to meet the instructor.
From what age can my child join?
From 8 up to and including 16. From 17 your child trains with the adults group, which trains straight afterwards.
How long is a class and how often is it?
A class lasts 60 minutes and runs on Tuesday and Thursday from 19:30 to 20:30. You decide whether your child comes once or twice a week.
Let your child join in once
The first class is free and commits you to nothing. Pick a Tuesday or Thursday and we will make sure your child feels welcome right away.
